CYBERUK programme unveiled one month ahead of flagship conference
  • Whole of society approach to cyber security will be theme of the NCSC’s conference in Wales
  • Sessions will cover a huge range of issues from learning the lessons of ransomware attacks to international perspectives on future technologies
  • Registration still open for the event on 10-11 May: the first in-person CYBERUK in three years

The National Cyber Security Centre today unveiled a wide-ranging programme for this year’s CYBERUK one month out from the opening of the flagship conference.

Ransomware, future technologies, defending the UK at scale and building a diverse workforce will be just some of the topics covered over the two-day conference in Wales.

The overall theme of CYBERUK 2022 builds on the National Cyber Strategy and will examine what it means to take a whole of society approach to cyber security.

The NCSC, which is a part of GCHQ, is hosting the flagship conference at the ICC Wales in Newport on 10-11 May. It will be the first in-person CYBERUK since 2019’s event in Glasgow.

It will see over 1,500 attendees from industry, academia and government brought together to engage in interactive workshops, see exhibitions of emerging technology and listen to keynote speeches from leading experts.

Support for the event comes from a range of industry organisations, including lead sponsors AWS and BT.

The release of the programme of events comes after the NCSC revealed last week the headline speakers for CYBERUK, including two of U.S. President Joe Biden’s key advisers on cyber security.

Lindy Cameron, CEO of the NCSC, said:

“This year’s CYBERUK promises to be a great occasion, with two days of thought-provoking discussion and insightful speakers.

“Our programme offers something for everyone in the cyber security community, from hearing about how other organisations dealt with incidents to the latest international perspectives on future technologies.

“With a month to go until the event opens I would urge cyber security leaders and professionals to register and take advantage of the fantastic array of speakers and sessions we have on offer.”

Building on the success of last year’s virtual event, keynote speeches will also be streamed on the CYBERUK YouTube channel in order to maximise accessibility for all.

CYBERUK will be delivered by NCSC and sponsors across four distinct streams of activity: resilience and tackling the threat; technology and the ecosystem; local to global leadership; interactive workshops.

More information about accessing the event and this year’s programme, exhibitors, speakers, and sponsors can be found on the dedicated CYBERUK website.
