D-Link DIR-3040 is vulnerable to a stack-based buffer overflow, caused by improper bounds checking by the prog.cgi script. By sending a specially crafted HNAP request using the SetIPv6PppoeSettings parameter, a remote authenticated attacker could overflow a buffer and execute arbitrary code on the system.
