GNU GRUB could allow a physical authenticated attacker to bypass security restrictions, caused by a flaw when using the UUID of a device to search for the configuration file. By using a specially crafted USB device containing a file system with a duplicate UUID, an attacker could exploit this vulnerability to bypass the GRUB password protection feature on UEFI systems.
