Rapid7 Announces Intent to Acquire DivvyCloud
Over the past few years, we have continued to see our customers embrace the cloud. There are many driving factors contributing to this steady adoption, including things like operational efficiencies, innovation capabilities introduced by public cloud providers, and, of course, financial benefits. The cloud can help enterprises achieve many great things they could not have done previously without a massive staff, or a lot of capital equipment, real estate, extensive HVAC, and a lot of network connectivity. However, all of this innovation and greatness inevitably comes with a new way of thinking about risk, threats, and attacks, and security professionals have been burdened with managing the security of this new computing world that is fast-moving and constantly changing.
As we’ve watched this shift to the cloud, we’ve also been listening to the needs of our customers who are challenged with managing the security of their cloud environments. Many are asking for additional support and more comprehensive visibility into their cloud and container environments. To help our customers wherever they are in this transition to the cloud, I am happy to announce that today we have entered into a definitive agreement to acquire DivvyCloud. DivvyCloud is a company that has been focusing on solving this problem for almost a decade. Since they launched, DivvyCloud has built a great product and vision around exactly what our customers want: the ability to accelerate innovation without the loss of control.
DivvyCloud is a leader in Cloud Security Posture Management (CSPM); the company enables deep visibility, combined with automated prevention and real-time remediation of risk to deliver continuous security and compliance for cloud environments, including support for Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform, Alibaba Cloud, and Kubernetes. Using DivvyCloud, customers can protect cloud and container environments from misconfiguration, policy violations, external and internal threats, and identity and access management challenges.
There is still more to be done in the area of cloud security, and Rapid7 will continue to build on the strong foundation DivvyCloud has created. Together, we look forward to accelerating our customers’ efforts to securely migrate to the cloud and speed their ability to innovate.
We are excited to welcome the DivvyCloud team to the Rapid7 family. Both companies share similar core values and foster a culture that embraces innovation, problem-solving, and challenging convention.
DivvyCloud CEO Brian Johnson echoed our excitement in his blog here.
